Rumored iPhone 7 Case Arrives
No 3.5mm Headphone Jack
In recent news, some images “revealing” the iPhone 7’s case has surfaced up before the actual phone’s release. These new images come from OnLeaks, which shows more than one image of the case without a 3.5mm headphone jack.
After seeing these images it’s safe to be skeptical of this, but OnLeaks does have a pretty good track record of leaking images of Apple products. With that said, the bottom of the case features two cut-outs for dual-speakers, which has been rumored to take the place of the headphone jack.
The design of the case fits into other rumors, which the speaker cut-outs are to the left and right of each other opening presumably for Apple’s Lightning port.
The case also sports the ring/silent button and volume controls on the left side, with the lock button on the right side. Looking at the case from the backside, the camera cut-outs is on the upper left side, though it seems to feature a slightly bigger opening than normal, potentially hinting the iPhone 7 could feature a larger rear lens or two.
If the company in fact removes the headphone jack, it’s rumored to include a new pair of Lightning-connected EarPods in the box with the iPhone 7. Apple is also expected to be working on a new design of wireless earbuds, which will have wireless left and right (separate) earpieces that would be sold separately from the September iPhone.
The much-anticipated iPhone 7 is expected to be released during the company’s usual September event, which will take place during the Fall. The new design is expected to have a flushed camera (meaning no camera bump), as well as less antenna lines on the metal case.
Lastly, it’s worth noting that the iPhone 7 may not even be in proper production yet, and that this case shouldn’t be taken as fact from OnLeaks, but a rumor from the source.
